I’m always on the look for a new writing challenge, and today I managed to come across a unique writing contest with less than two weeks before entries close!
Doug Weller’s Six Word Wonder Contest accepts worldwide submissions. You can enter up to five times, free of charge. The catch? Your entry must be exactly six words. No more, no less. It sounds a lot easier than it is!
I spent the afternoon trying to craft the best six word stories I could come up with. Entries close on September 30th, 2026, and it’s free to enter, so why not join in? If you’re after a challenge and think you can craft the perfect story in only six words, give the Six Word Wonder Contest a shot.
My favourite submission I came up with was:
Tangle of eels; river runs green.
